Al was born and raised in Barrie where he served on the Public School Board and was active in community work, both in Barrie and Toronto for over seventy years. He was the founding Chairman, Past President and thirty-six-year Director of Hospital Special Needs Inc. Toronto, now March of Dimes. 

Al passed away on September 26th, 2016. 

Al was a treasured member of our chapter and we extend our deepest sympathy to the Harris family. He will definitely be missed by many. Al remained an active CLU for 69 years, an honour that he was also recognized for by the chapter. 

Finally, a belief that Al leaves with us all is “that a person only making a living fails to make a life” and “to love is to care”.
